1. Independent contractor status
You are an independent contractor, not an employee, worker, partner or agent of Busy Bee. You control how you perform your work, may decline offered bookings, may work for other clients and platforms, and supply your own transportation. You are responsible for your own income tax, CPP contributions and (where applicable) GST/HST registration; Busy Bee issues annual T4A summaries (or invoices/records as applicable) and pays no source deductions.
Nothing in this Agreement prevents you from serving your own clients or advertising your own business, provided you do not divert bookings introduced through Busy Bee for the same services.
2. Vetting and standards
Before your first solo booking you must: complete a vulnerable sector check (assisted at our cost), provide two verifiable work references, confirm work eligibility in Canada, and complete our quality walkthrough.
Perform to the published checklists; respect customer homes, privacy and property; report damage or incidents to dispatch immediately; never accept cash for Busy Bee bookings.
3. Bookings, availability and payment
You set availability by day and time window; the platform offers you bookings that match. You're free to decline without penalty, but repeated no-shows or late arrivals (15+ minutes without notice) lead to deactivation.
You keep 70–80% of the booking price depending on service and supplies used; the exact percentage is shown on each job offer before you accept. Payouts are weekly by e-transfer or direct deposit for completed jobs, less platform commission. Customer tips, where given, are 100% yours.
4. Insurance and materials
Busy Bee carries liability insurance covering you while performing an accepted Busy Bee booking in a customer's home, subject to policy terms. It does not cover intentional damage, your vehicle, or work outside the platform.
Customers choose whether we supply materials (+$15 fee); when supplied, use them as trained. For carpet/window work, equipment is supplied and its care is your responsibility during the job.
5. Conduct, confidentiality and privacy
You will handle customer information (addresses, entry codes, absence patterns) as strictly confidential, during and after this Agreement. You will follow PIPEDA-consistent practices: no copying of customer data, no social posting from inside homes.
No harassment, discrimination, substance use while working, or unattended minors in customer homes. Breaches lead to immediate deactivation and, where warranted, legal action.
6. Term, termination and disputes
Either party may end this Agreement with 7 days' notice (immediately for cause). Completed-job payouts are settled on the normal cycle after termination. Sections on confidentiality, payments for completed work and insurance claims survive termination.
This Agreement is governed by Ontario law; disputes go first to good-faith negotiation, then mediation in Newmarket or Toronto, then Ontario courts if unresolved.
